Featured artist Lois Lawrence is a lawyer by profession and has created art continuously throughout her adult life. She paints mostly landscapes and has a fascination for the infinite variety of natural skies.
Lawrence is primarily a self-taught artist but has studied portraiture at the Lyme Academy (now the Lyme College of Art) in Connecticut, and still life at the Mystic Museum of Art. She is most drawn to landscapes, interiors and subjects that tell a story. She reports, “I am passionate about travel and memorialize my voyages in photos to serve as reference and inspiration once I am back at my easel.” Recently she has captured images in southern Quebec, Paris, and the South of France. She also appreciates the beauty all around her home in Stonington, Connecticut.
