ARTISTS' COOPERATIVE GALLERY OF WESTERLY
For many years Ardie Harrison has been capturing fleeting moments of beauty all over the world with his camera’s lens. As he states, “The process and journey to create images feeds my soul and brings me great joy. My goal is to capture the essence of the subjects I’m drawn to, using the creative medium of photography. Any day I can be looking through my lens composing images is a great day.”
Whether Mr. Harrison is catching a glint in someone’s eye or the fleeting drop of dew on a flower, to him it is all about timing. As he states about his process, “I love waking up early to capture the magic of the first light of day. I am rewarded with the unexpected. A great photo takes planning, preparation and a bit of luck and timing but it still feels like a gift when I am out there and it all comes together.”
Although the artist started with film and a dark room, he now works exclusively with digital media. He does commissioned work and has exhibited in galleries in Michigan, Minnesota, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
