Jane E Robbins began painting in 2016 after a long career as an entrepreneur, strategy consultant, and professor of strategy and innovation at Vanderbilt University and University of Arizona. Now working full-time as an artist, Jane paints a wide variety of subject matter, seeking to convey the energy, movement, and emotion in everyday life, while retaining the quality of an objective analyst and documentarian. Her work is characterized by complexity, strong color, lines, and narrative, often with a bit of humor.  Working with what she calls “attack,” her contemporary realist paintings are captures of lived and observed life.

Her award-winning work has been exhibited in juried shows locally, regionally, and nationally, including the Pastels USA National Show, Renaissance in Pastel National Exhibition, Arizona Pastel Artists Association National Show, Sierra Pastel Society International Exhibit, Long Beach Island Foundation National Plein Air Competition and Exhibit, Newport Art Museum Annual, Pastel Guild of Europe International Show, Northeast National Pastel Exhibition, and Pastel Society of New Hampshire It’s Pastel! National Exhibit. A juried artist member of the Pastel Society of America, she brings her years of experience as faculty to teaching pastel painting at South County Art Association and at her home studio.
