Nancy Virbila is an award-winning artist whose work has been widely exhibited in the Northeast and North Carolina. Utilizing vivid colors and earthy textures, a mixed media collage is created incorporating hand-made and decorative papers, acrylic paints, inks, watercolors or pastels. Nancy describes her work as representational, but not necessarily realistic. She will often use colors and patterns that may not be found in nature.

Nancy's collages reflect her love of the local surroundings, be it in the mountains, lakes and woods of the Northeast or the coastal shores and marshes of Rhode Island. Nancy's love of music will often inspire the themes and titles of her pieces. Viewers will often find pieces of sheet music in her pieces. As a professional picture framer, Nancy frames each piece to help enhance the dimension and texture of each scene.

Nancy has a BFA in Art & Design. Her work is featured in Collage Art published by Rockport Publishers and Collage Source Book - Exploring the Art and Technique of Collage published by Apple Press.

Nancy is available for commissions and collage workshops and demonstrations.
