A Celebration Of Color
Monday, July 8 - Friday, July 12, 9:30am-12:30pm

The Artists’ Cooperative Gallery of Westerly, 14 Railroad Avenue Westerly RI (the Westerly Train Station)

Painting allows us to express our creative side while we channel our emotions and discover our artistic identity. Whether an emerging artist or a novice, students are invited to come for an exciting and imaginative week to explore painting with acrylics. The students will create several pieces of original art, learn a variety of artistic concepts and techniques and experience the impact painting has on their artistic confidence. This fun and engaging class will give students an opportunity to be expressive while celebrating and learning about color and how to communicate through painting. No experience necessary- just the desire to relax, have fun, be creative and connect with color.

What sets this art class apart from others is that it will be held in the United in Art Community Gallery in The Westerly Train Station -the new home of the Artists’ Cooperative Gallery of Westerly.  Using the gallery as their classroom students will study the art in the gallery, which includes a variety of different types of mediums.  In addition the students will get the experience of participating in an actual Art Gallery Exhibit as their finished work is part of the August Show in the Gallery with an Opening Reception August 2nd, 5-8pm.  Space is limited to 10 students- early registration is suggested.  To learn more and register contact the instructor Helen Roy drhelenroy@yahoo.com or 401-419-4538.
